Memories of a special aunt/more of a big sister!

Created by Kate and David one year ago

David’s first memory of June was at his family house in Margaret Street in Folkestone when she first came to stay as Uncle Dave’s fiancee. She burst into the bathroom to find him, an embarassed 9 (or thereabouts) year old sitting in the bath. A couple of Christmasses later, heavily pregnant with Steven and after a riotous party downstairs she was stuck halfway up the stairs in a fit of giggles. Very shortly afterwards Steven was born!!!!

Time moved on and over the years visits to their home in Robsart Place were very special; times of great support, encouragement and fun. When our children were little we spent a couple of happy family holidays in their caravan in Devon. We were priviledged to spend a little time with them  about twice a year as Dave deteriorated. Over recent years it was a joy to be with her and Tony and to pray with them in a ‘hug huddle’. Sadly since lockdown we’ve been unable to visit and were so grateful that Michaela kept in touch with us and updated us as she faded away. We’ll miss her tremendously; she was very much a big sister to us as there was such a small age gap, particularly between her and David! We will miss those hugs and her loving concern for all of our family in whom she took such an interest.
